What is Sponsored Listings?
Sponsored Listings is a promotional tool that artists who are verified to sell on Saatchi Art can use to gain additional exposure for individual artwork listings on the website. Eligibility is currently limited to U.S.-based artists with at least 5 original artworks for sale. Sponsored Listings uses a digital advertising model whereby artists (advertisers) pay per click (CPC) for placement on specific high-traffic pages of the website.
What does ‘Cost-per-Click’ (CPC) mean?
Cost-per-Click or “CPC” is a digital advertising model where you, the advertiser, only pays when a website visitor clicks on your ad. The “cost” is the current bid price for that specific placement where your ad is running. Bid prices are set using a “second-price auction” – meaning that if your bid “wins” for that placement, you pay the amount per-click of the next highest bidder. Our article on CPC bidding explains the process in more detail.
How does billing/payment work?
Saatchi Art will send invoices via email at the beginning of each month for any balance accrued the previous month. For example, if you accrued a balance of $100 in March, we will issue an invoice in the first week of April. You will have 14 days from the invoice date to pay your invoice.
What if I don’t pay my balance in time?
Artists that fail to pay their invoice within the 14 day timeframe will have their Constructor account and all active campaigns temporarily suspended until their invoice is paid in full. Some exceptions may be made in some cases for low-value balances.
How do I pause or cancel a Sponsored Listings campaign after it starts?
Once the campaign is running, you can suspend it anytime. By default, a new campaign will go live the day after you publish it. Simply go to your Campaign Manager dashboard in Constructor by clicking the button on the https://www.saatchiart.com/studio/promotions page, find the campaign you’d like to pause, click the three dot icon and select “Pause Campaign”. Remember, even if you pause a campaign you will still be billed for any balance that campaign accrued while it was active.
How do I access my Sponsored Listings dashboard?
You must be logged in to Saatchi Art to access your campaign management dashboard (hosted by Constructor.io). The only way to access your dashboard is to click the button “Go to My Dashboard” in the Sponsored Listings page in Saatchi Art Studio. Saving or bookmarking the constructor page will not let you access your dashboard.
How much should I spend on Sponsored Listings?
Everyone has different expectations and circumstances, and you should never spend more than you can afford. Some artists allocate a monthly or yearly marketing budget to spend some portion toward Sponsored Listings. Others consider the cost of marketing their work as a percentage of their profit. For instance, spending $100 to potentially earn $1,000 (10%) may make sense for your business. We recommend running a campaign for at least 2 weeks at a daily budget that makes sense for you to begin seeing the benefits.
What types of artworks can I promote with Sponsored Listings?
Sponsored Listings are available for original artworks only (not open edition prints).
