META's AI scrapes our original images
When I was notified that META would not honor artist’s copyright in the US (laws require them to in other countries) and would scrape images of our art to train its AI, I canceled all my FB/IG accounts. TikTok has ongoing security issues around the collection and potential misuse of personal data.
I now primarily send interested people directly to my Saatchiart page.
The question: Does Saatchiart look at the number of social media followers an artist might have as part of their consideration about noting/promoting that artist's work?
I ask because in the publishing industry, a writer with a large SM platform is considered more desirable (since publishing companies no longer have large budgets to promote work) than perhaps a better written book whose author does not have a social media presence.
And, in light of the above issues for an artist, can Saatchiart offer any marketing guidance that sidesteps the social media issues cited?
