EXPORT REQUIREMENTS
All commercial shipments of artwork that are less than 70 years old and less than $13,500 can be exported out of Italy through the Belle Arti Self-Certification.
How to obtain certification:
Step 1: Register for a "Self Certification for Contemporary Art Export" (Autocertificazione per l'arte contemporanea – AAC) from the Beni Culturali website:
Step 2: Once you are registered, please login here: https://sue.beniculturali.it/suenet/sue/frmsuelogin.aspx to begin your Self Certification application process.
During the online application process, you will be asked to provide:
- A photo copy of your ID
- A photo copy of your artwork
- Your Codice Fiscale
Step 3: Once you have completed the application please print out 2 copies of the Self Certification.
Step 4: You will need to bring two copies of the Self Certification to your local export office. The export office will keep one copy of the Self Certification for their records while the other is authorized with a stamp. Please note it may take 1-2 weeks for your Self Certification to be approved.
Step 5: Once approved, you will need to return to the same export office to pick up the approved paperwork. Please keep in contact with your export office for information on when the paperwork will be ready for pick up. If you do not provide these documents to your courier, your parcel will be stopped in Italian customs until you provide the proper documents. They are very strict with this policy and will not allow for parcels to leave Italy without this documentation.

Note that your artwork will only be covered under our insurance policy if it is adequately packed according to these guidelines.
SHIPPING DOCUMENTS
The pre-paid shipping label and paperwork you need are available to download from your Sales Dashboard in your Saatchi Art account as follows-
- Shipping label: please affix this to the outside of the packageCertificate of authenticity: for the client's records, please place this inside the package
- Declaration of art: this is a customs document required for international shipments, please give 1 copy to the courier
- Commercial invoice: another customs document required for international shipments, please give 3 copies to the courier
A few other reminders-
- Please print and prepare your shipping documents prior to the courier's arrival.
- Always use only the label and documents we have issued, as we cannot track or insure the artwork shipment otherwise.
