What's an aspect ratio?

Aspect ratio simply indicates the shape of your image. In order to calculate your image’s aspect ratio, you’ll need to know the dimensions of your image in either pixels or centimeters. Divide the larger pixel size by the smaller size. For example, if your image is *1200x1500*, simply divide 1500/1200 to get 1.25. The aspect ratio, then, is *1.25:1.

Saatchi Art generates prints with the following aspect ratios:

  • 1:1
  • 1.25:1
  • 1.27:1
  • 1.33:1
  • 1.50:1

If the aspect ratio of your digital image falls between the standards required, the image will be put into the nearest ratio. For example, a 15” x 14” (2250 pixels x 2100 pixels) digital image with an aspect ratio of 1.07:1 would be put in the 14”x14” print category. The sizes that will be offered for sale are automatically determined based on the shape and size of the digital image you upload.
