How do I create and manage collections?

 

Creating Collections

There are two ways to create a new collection:

• From your Collections page
• Through any artwork image on the site (either the thumbnail image or the image on the artwork’s page) 

 

To create a collection from your Collections page:

Step 1 -  Log in to the site. From the main menu, hover over your name on the right of the top navigation menu and select Artworks. 

Step 2 - Select the Collections tab (circled above), then click the light gray box with a plus icon that reads “Create a New Collection”

Step 3 - Enter your new collection’s title as well as a description of it (i.e. the unifying theme under which these works are grouped)

Step 4 - Select your collection “type.” If you'd like to add works from multiple Saatchi Art artists, select Community. If you'd like to make a collection only using from artworks from your own online portfolio, select Portfolio. If you'd like to include works from any artist but keep your collection private (viewable only by you), select Private.

Step 5 - Click Create Collection.

 

 

To create a collection from an artwork image:

Step 1 - Log in to the site. Mouseover a thumbnail image of the artwork you’d like to add to a new collection and click the Add to Collection button (the Plus icon)

 

 

Or from the artwork’s page, click on the plus icon underneath the main image.

This will open the Add to a Collection pop-up (see image below).

Step 2 - Click +NEW COLLECTION. This will open the New Collection details pop-up.

Step 3 - Enter your new collection’s title as well as a description of it (i.e. the unifying theme under which these works are grouped)

Step 4 - Select your collection “type.” If you'd like to add works from multiple Saatchi Art artists, select Community. If you'd like to make a collection only using from artworks from your own online portfolio, select Portfolio. If you'd like to include works from any artist but keep your collection private (viewable only by you), select Private.

Step 5 - Click Create Collection.

 

 

Managing Collections

Below are instructions on how to:

• Add an image to one of your existing collections
• Edit the name/description of one of your existing collections
• Remove an image from one of your existing collections
• Delete a collection

 

 

To add an image to one of your existing collections: 

Step 1 - Log in to the site. Mouseover a thumbnail image of the artwork you’d like to add to a collection and click the Add to Collection button (the Plus icon) -or- from the artwork’s page, click Add to Collection to the right of the main image.

This will open the Add to a Collection pop-up. Select the collection you’d like to add artwork to from the list, or use the search box to search your collections by keyword and category, selected from the drop-down menu (either Date Modified, Title, or Date Created).

 

 

To edit the name/description of one of your existing collections:

Step 1 -  Log in to the site. From the main menu, hover over your name on the right of the top navigation menu and select Artworks. 

Step 2 - From your artworks page, select the Collections tab. Then, select the collection containing the image you’d like to remove. On the left side of the page beneath your profile image and above the collection details (see image below) are buttons allowing you to Edit, Reorder, or Delete the collection.

Step 3 - Click Edit to enter the Edit Collection page. On the left side of the page, edit the details (i.e. the title, description, and type) of your collection. If you’d like to remove images from the collection, click the red “X” on the top right corner of the artwork(s) you’d like to remove.

Step 4 - Once you’re finished editing the collection, click Save.

NOTE: There is no “undo” function once you’ve removed artwork from a collection. If you’d like to re-add artwork you’ve removed from the collection, please search for the artwork and manually add it to the collection again. 

 

 

To remove an image from one of your existing collections:

Step 1 -  Log in to the site. From the main menu, hover over your name on the right of the top navigation menu and select Artworks. 

Step 2 - From your artworks page, select the Collections tab. Then, select the collection containing the image you’d like to remove. On the left side of the page beneath your profile image and above the collection details are buttons allowing you to Edit, Reorder, or Delete the collection.

Step 3 - Click Edit to enter the Edit Collection page. Click the red “X” on the top right corner of the image(s) you’d like to remove from the collection. You can also edit the details (i.e. the title, description, and type) of the collection from this page if you’d like. 

Step 4 - Once you’re finished editing the collection, click Save.

NOTE: There is no “undo” function once you’ve removed artwork from a collection. If you’d like to re-add artwork you’ve removed from the collection, please search for the artwork and manually add it to the collection again. 

 

 

To delete a collection:

IMPORTANT: Collections take time to create, so please think twice before deleting a collection as there is no quick “undo” function should you change your mind! 

Step 1 -  Log in to the site. From the main menu, hover over your name on the right of the top navigation menu and select Artworks. 

Step 2 - From your artworks page, select the Collections tab. Then, select the collection you’d like to delete. On the left side of the page beneath your profile image and above the collection details are buttons allowing you to Edit, Reorder, or Delete the collection.

Step 3 - Click Delete. Your collection is now deleted.
