Uploading a government-issued photo ID to become a seller
To be able to sell with Saatchi Art (originals and or prints via Saatchi Art’s print on demand service), you will need to verify your identity by uploading a legal form of identification. In order to make your artwork for sale, we must have your valid government ID on file. All works will remain not for sale until this step is complete.
A government-issued photo ID, driver’s license, or passport is required to be uploaded; doing so allows Saatchi Art the ability to confirm the following:
- Your legal name and identity as the copyright holder of the artwork you intend to sell.
- You are of legal age and eligible to sell on our platform.
- Your location eligibility.
- Payment verification as payee
You are welcome to cover the ID number and only display the following information clearly when submitting a form of ID:
- Picture
- Name
- Date of birth
- Address
- Current expiration date
It will take ~24 hours for your ID to be approved in our system. In some cases, you may need to resubmit your ID if the image is not clear or if you uploaded an invalid form of identification.
Please upload a jpeg file when submitting your Identification.
Step 1 - Access ID Upload in Artist Account Page in Studio
At the bottom of the Account page in Studio, you will see a section called 'ID Verification'. Click on the button 'Upload ID' to get started. This will take you to a new page.
Step 2 – Read Agreement & Upload File
Read the ID uploading agreement and instructions, then click Choose File to locate the image file of your photo ID on your computer or mobile phone.
Step 4 – Enter your Legal Name
If you’re using an Artist Name (i.e. a pseudonym) that‘s different from the name on your government-issued ID, please enter your Legal Name in the field provided.
Step 5 – Click Submit.
NOTE: As a US-based company Saatchi Art is not able to accept IDs from any artist who is located in a country that is embargoed by the US government. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
