- What are all the options I can offer prints?
- How do I go about selling Open Edition prints? (Including how to price)
- What are the different product offerings for Open Edition prints?
- How do I go about selling Limited Edition prints?
WHAT ARE MY PRINT OPTIONS?
Firstly, please understand that there are two ways to sell prints on Saatchi Art
1. Upload artwork and make Open Edition prints available in addition to (or instead of) selling the original work. They will be generated, printed, and shipped by Saatchi Art.
2. Sell Limited Edition prints which you will print and package yourself before being picked up and delivered by our courier.
About Limited Edition Prints
As the name suggests, only a limited number of prints can be made available for purchase. For example, if you decide to sell a limited run of 25 prints, once those 25 prints have sold, that limited edition will no longer be available and you cannot sell any more. The exclusive nature of a limited edition print effectively raises its value and, therefore, its price.
About Open Edition Prints
Unlike limited edition prints, open edition prints may be endlessly reproduced. Because there's no limit to the number of prints that can be made, an open edition print is priced lower than a limited edition print.
Currently, Saatchi Art offers a printing service for open editions only. Though we don't offer a limited edition option at the moment, we're working on providing this service in the future.
HOW DO I SELL OPEN EDITION PRINTS?
In order to sell Open Edition prints, you must know what digital image file size to upload. This is extremely important. If your file does not comply with the below chart, the upload form will not allow you to sell prints. You'll need to re-size your file and upload it again once your file size has been corrected. Again, please note that you will need to upload a digital image file that corresponds with the chart's recommended sizes in order to generate the print option(s).

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT PRODUCT OFFERINGS?
Canvas Prints
Our canvas prints are museum grade Giclée reproductions. Every Saatchi Art canvas is matte textured (20.5 mil), bright white, poly-cotton blend with no additives and no agents. The Giclée ink jet receptor is specifically designed for the reproduction of acrylic and oil based pigments. We use state-of-the-art digital “droplet on demand” archival quality pigmented ink technology, capable of reproducing more than 36,000,000 unique possible colors. Our kiln dried, knot free, finger jointed wood stretcher bars are hand cut and assembled to Saatchi’s thirty standard sizes. All of our wood comes from renewable forests, for a planet-friendly art reproduction. Our canvases are affixed to the stretcher bars using a patent pending “Sure Grip” process. The unique rubber washer provides an even, expandable tension, which allows the canvas to breath, avoiding “canvas wrinkling.” They arrive to the collector stretched and ready to hang or frame. Each canvas is coated with a UV protective layer designed specifically for our canvas and ink, protecting from scratches and sunlight.

HOW DO I SELL LIMITED EDITION PRINTS?
As the name suggests, you may only make and sell a limited number of prints for the work to qualify as a limited edition. For example, if you decide to sell a limited run of 25 prints, once those 25 prints have sold, that limited edition will no longer be available and you cannot sell any more. The exclusive nature of a limited edition print effectively raises its value and, therefore, its price. If you'd like to sell limited edition prints, we require you to supply (and ship) the prints yourself and to indicate in the title of each print that it is “Limited Edition number X [the print number] of X [the total number of prints to be made].” For example: Limited Edition 5 of 25.
To sell limited edition prints on Saatchi Art, do the following:
When you upload your artwork, you'll need to select the category as either PHOTOGRAPHY or PRINTMAKING.
Proceed through all of the steps to complete your upload. On the Title page, you'll be asked for the artwork's title and the number of editions you plan to print or have printed.
You'll need to list the edition that you'd like to make available for sale. Once the upload is complete, your customer will see that edition number and will expect for that one to arrive to them.
In the event that your work sells, you would proceed with the sale the same way you would with an original work. That is, once it sells, you'll schedule for a pickup date with our courier and will be responsible for printing and packaging the work.
IMPORTANT: You’ll be in charge of keeping track of the editions sold, indicating the next available edition number in the title: "ARTWORK TITLE, Limited Edition 2 of 20."
Be certain to include a thorough Art Description about the type of paper you are using, or any additional details that would be helpful for your collector to read t understand your work.
Once you've sold an artwork, to make the next edition for sale again - Go to edit your artwork's details, make the artwork status "For Sale" again (it will currently be selected as "Sold").
Next, go to the Title section, and update the number to being the next one you'd like to make available for sale. For example, if you have just sold edition #1, you'll want to change it to #2. Then, select SUBMIT CHANGES. #2 will then display as being available to purchase for your next customers.
